Al-Ājurrūmīyyah is a classical Arabic grammar book written in the 13th century by the Moroccan scholar Muhammad ibn Da’ud as-Sanhaji. It is considered the go-to book for beginners to learn Arabic grammar across the Arab world. Fluent Arabic brings you this amazing course with English instruction and explanation, to make it more accessible.
In this course, you will complete the full book insha’ Allah. We will cover the concepts of I’rab, and build a foundation in Arabic Grammar. This course is suitable for intermediate learners with a basic understanding of Arabic Grammar.
Ustad Abdurahmane Diallo is from Senagal. Having memorized the Quran at a young age, he has gone on to memorize many Arabic texts, including the Alfiyyah of Ibn Malik – A thousand-line poem explaining Arabic Grammar. He loves teaching Arabic and is skilled at breaking down concepts in a clear and understandable manner for learners. He currently pursues his PHD from the International Islamic University of Malaysia.
The live classes will be taught via zoom at 9pm GMT every Thursday.

Bismillahi al Rahmani al Raheem. Alhamdulillah, patience and the sincerity of Ustadh are clear qualities that stand out, not only encouraging us to do well but also supporting us (through his great efforts and dedication) to achieve success. With respect, teachers in my experience may have great knowledge but some lack the skill necessary for teaching a mixed-level group of beginners and/or are impatient in manner. A tendency to rush through the material to achieve their own goal takes priority over a real need to check whether the students have understood, feel able and are ready to progress to the next stages. This is not the case with Ustadh.
Additionally, with respect, some teachers appear irritated by beginners’ questions and don’t provide adequate time either for their questions or for their clear explanation. Hastiness means that the slower ones (like me) or more ‘beginner’ students in a beginner group can quickly fall behind or feel excluded, resulting in their poor homework submission, dropping attendance or contributing to a student leaving study, feeling misunderstood or overwhelmed.
Alhamdulillah, frequent repetition of material, giving many clear examples, homework and regular review have all been very supportive, along with a good-natured willingness to explain things in different ways.
When a teacher’s commitment and willingness to invest in his students is clear to those students, this role modelling motivates and activates them, thereby aiding homework submission as well as supporting steadfastness and perseverance to complete the course. Students become like their teacher’s children, eager for the reward from a pleased parent and therefore willing to make the extra effort.

What I like: Style of delivery, repetition of important concepts, recap of old material, testing each individual (for the live class).

The Ustad gives regular exercises after the topic and this is helpful.
